This residential building was built in 2014 for Mr. Karuna comprising an area of 2100 sqft. The client is a singer needed a calm and suttle space for his practice, which was separated from the rest of the house. It constitutes three bedrooms, double height dining area and a separate space for swing near the double height staircase. This building was designed and executed as per Vaastu. The spaces and openings have been optimally oriented to utilize the prevailing breeze which is essential in a warm humid climate. The three skylights, in addition, provide an almost a magical quality of light, can be opened to direct wind through the house. The building was defined in the purity of formal elements in space, is refined into a single cube, making areas of habitation by their surrounding relationships to each other and to the periphery of the volumetric space in which they sit. Between the kitchen and Bedroom lies the Family lounge with full-height windows opening to the backyard. The elevation is simple and minimal with bold and sharp lines.
