This residence at Pammal was built in 2017 for Mr Sundar. In this extension and modification of a large, joint family home, the foremost requirement was to achieve a harmonious integration with the existing structure while retaining a definite identity. The centrally located family space formed the focal point of the house. Two bedrooms were on Ground Floor and three bedrooms were on the First floor and a Guesthouse was on the Second floor, where provision was made for future addition. It was possible to accommodate the same volume as the study above. The house had load-bearing walls and reinforced Concrete slabs. The use of conventional materials like brick plaster, paint, teak, and Padak wood maintains an overall simplicity of textures and finishes. This building was designed and executed as per Vaastu. The exterior was done with texture Paint with bright yellow colour that matches well with the tile and stone cladding.
